What is it?

Microneedling involves the insertion of very fine micro-needles (with the only FDA approved Skin-Pen) into the skin, making thousands of tiny, invisible puncture wounds in the top layers of skin for the purpose of skin rejuvenation, aka, collagen induction therapy.

The controlled micro-injuries to the skin stimulate your own body’s natural healing processes and the result is increased cell turnover including increased collagen and elastin production.  The process is one similar to using lasers for skin rejuvenation and reversing/preventing signs of aging to the skin but instead of using heat or light like lasers do, microneedling uses mechanical injury to the skin to induce those natural restorative processes.

What does it help?

Improves acne scarring, decreases pore size, diminishes brown spots, and boosts collagen to the areas with benefits to reducing fine lines, wrinkles, and loose skin.

 

How often is it performed?

At least 4 weeks apart, to allow for complete skin healing and cell turnover, for 3-4 sessions to achieve optimal results.  

 

Who should NOT get microneedled?

Inflamed eczema or rosacea, active acne breakouts, perioral dermatitis, or active fever blisters/cold sores.  Contraindicated in clients on prescription blood thinners.

What to expect after treatment?

Usually only a “sunburnt” skin appearance for 24-36 hours after treatment.  

NO makeup allowed for 24 hours after procedure.
